Welcome Little E! | CT Newborn Photographer

Quick Side Note: We will be heading out to Maine tomorrow and will return on Monday at some point… if they can drag me out of the river and back into the car!! :) All emails and calls will be returned on Tuesday as we are heading deep into the woods and there’s this happy thing out there called: silence. Looking forward to a little break with technology. I’ll see you all when I get back! Now, on to far more important matters:

Most people might not know this, but I hate getting lost. Like, reallllly hate it. Like sweaty palms, heart racing, anxiety, hate it. I always prepare for each session by not only setting my GPS up with the address I’m going to, but I also print out a set of mapquest directions. Joe makes fun of me, wondering why on Earth I need both? I just tell him its my insurance policy. Just in case my GPS should die (though I always have the charger), or the roads are blocked (though the darn thing can usually find another way around), or just in case the entire satellite network that controls every GPS system on the planet should suddenly be taken out and all the maps I rely on go blank! That’s what I prepare for. I think it’s smart. Needless to say when my clients hang a giant pink sign across their front door welcoming home their beautiful new baby girl, it makes it pretty easy to spot the right house. Even for me. So thanks H family for marking the spot so adorably!

Little E happens to have something in common with the last little girl I showed on here; both their mother’s have impeccable style. I should have taken notes while I was there, but I was a little consumed by this lady. I’m sure you can see why! Enjoy H family, the rest will be up soon!!

Newborn Perfection | CT Newborn Photographer

I have to laugh; sometimes when I am invited to do a newborn or child session at a home that has dogs, it can be a little tough to pull me away from the furry children of the family, they are just so cute! But while this little girl has some adorable older pup siblings, she is definitely holding her own. As soon as I saw her perfect tininess I was smitten! And you can bet that as she gets older this gorgeous little girl is going to have the best sense of style. How do I know? Because her momma does! Thank you so much guys for having me into your beautiful home, it was so great to meet you all! Enjoy these, there are many more to come!

Concert for Puppy Mill Rescue!

I feel so lucky sometimes for the people my  photography brings me in contact with! Working with roar for the roar mini sessions I met a wonderful lady named Janet. She was a part of rescuing several dogs and puppy’s from a puppy mill. (If you don’t know what a puppy mill is take a look here.) Needless to say these sweet creatures needed some serious help. To raise funds to pay for their care, a concert is being held at the Frye Homestead in Bethel, CT on September 26, 2010. The Rob Silvan band will be playing, featuring Cook Thomas, and there will organic food by Green Truck Pizza. I will be adding a link to the event website just as soon as its up!!  Here is the link!! They used some of my favorite photos on there! SO excited!

In the meantime take a look at these faces!! All puppy mill rescues and as adorable as they come!! I was lucky enough to spend some time with these cuties, and the folks who have opened their homes to them. I hope to have more to post soon for these guys! Enjoy!!

Fabulous News!

I have some really awesome news to share with you guys, first about my own family and then about the coming schedule and then a new partnership that I am super stoked to announce (that will be the subject of tomorrow’s post!). Those who are “friends” with me on facebook or who “like” the Rebecca Murphy Photography page already know this, as do the fantastic folks on the newsletter list; We’ve Moved! Yep, Joe, the pups and I have taken our family a tiny bit further north (not really that much further!) to Sherman! We bought our first house at the beginning of the month (hence the near silence around here!). We are getting settled in and starting work on all the projects we have in mind to turn this into OUR place! We couldn’t be more excited!!

Of course, right before we closed on the house I had to head to NH for the best reason a girl could ask for: a new nephew! My brother welcomed his third little boy home at the end of June and I had to run right up there to get some new baby shots! Finn is as handsome as his older brothers and it was so awesome meeting him while still so new! Isn’t he adorable!!? I can hardly stand it!

So, that has been my life lately! Lots going on! I wanted to post a quick update here too though about what is quickly (too quickly!!) approaching, and yes I am talking about the holiday season! A very quick post…For a good cause

I know this blog has been more than a little quiet, and I am going to remedy that in the next day or so, but I wanted to jump on here right now to share something that is very near and dear to my heart. My oldest brother, Mark, (the one with the kiddos that started me down this amazing path in the first place!) is riding in the Pan-Mass Challenge, raising money and awareness for Cancer research, and he’s riding in honor of my mom’s mom, my nana, who lost her own bout with the disease in 2009. If you can help in any way, even just by passing this along, I ask you to do that. Every little bit helps and I will appreciate it more than I can say! Thank so much!! *rebecca
